Funeral services were held for William Allen Waring, 76, at 1:30 Friday afternoon from the Gill chapel and Emanuel Lutheran church in Strawberry Point, the Rev. S. J. Meyer the officiating clergyman.
Born Jan. 16, 1880, near Strawberry Point, Mr. Waring was the son of Louie and Eliza (Fredrick) Waring. He was married April 02, 1902, to Margaret Feulner in Strawberry Point and they lived their entire life in this community, retiring to Strawberry Point ten years ago.
Preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother, he is survived by his wife, Margaret Waring of Strawberry Point, one son, Alvin Waring, also of Strawberry Point and two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Jay of Verona, N.J., and Mrs. Jack (Edna) Druger of Strawberry Point, two brothers and three sisters, Charlie Waring of Arlington and Lawrence Waring of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Carrie Tickner of Dekalb, Ill., and Mrs. Ollie Gladwin and Mrs. Emma Nieman of Oelwein.
Interment was in Strawberry Point cemetery with the Gill funeral service in charge of arrangements.
