Mrs. Henry Dahling died Aug. 02, 1956, at the Larson nursing home at St. Olaf where she had been a patient for the past year.
Anna Sophia Klahr was born Nov. 02, 1885, the daughter of Charles and Louise Klahr, near Mederville.
On April 27, 1904, she was married to Henry Dahling. They made their home on a farm near Littleport until the spring of 1945, when they moved to Elkader.
Mrs. Dahling was preceded in death by one daughter, Eva, who died in infancy, her parents, one brother, Henry Klahr, and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, William and Carl, both of near Littleport, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Chettinger of Strawberry Point.
Funeral services were held at the Witt Funeral home Monday, Aug. 06, with the Rev. Robert Jacobs officiating. Pallbearers were Donald Liddy, John Dinan, John Wiley, Robert Dinan and Leonard Krieg.

Dahling, Fort Baker, Sausalito, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph French, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ida Bente and Mildred, Mason City; Mrs. Lloyd Pfaltzgraff, Dumont; Mr. and Mrs. George Bathel and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schroeder, Owatonna, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. August Walters, Denver, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Chettinger and Carol, Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chettinger, Lamont.
