Clayton County Register, 12 Jul. 1956.

Funeral services for Wm. Henry, 67-year-old Garnavillo township farmer, were held at Garnavillo last Sunday. Burial was made at Garnavillo.

Henry was found dead in the milk house at his farm home last Friday morning, Discovery was made by a son, Elmer. The son reported to Sheriff Forrest Fischer that he had found his father's body when he went to the barn to do the morning's chores. A rifle wound in the forehead had caused death.

The coroner's ruling was death by self inflicted gun wound. In the absence of Coroner Clifford Pilkington, Justice of the Peace Ray Barton, Elkader, served as acting coroner.

Henry and his son had been living at the farm alone.
