Roy M. Purington, 34, of Bagley, Wis. drowned last Sunday in the Mississippi River at McGregor. His body was recovered Monday morning.
Purington and his brother, Herman, were riding in a boat near the Harlow dock when the motor stopped running. When Roy Purington, in some manner, fell from the boat, the brother was unable to get the motor started in time to make the rescue.
The drowned man is survived by his wife and four small children, aged one and one--half to nine years. He had been employed in the E. C. Schroeder Stone quarry at Wyalusing, Wis.
Funeral services were Scheduled from the Lake funeral home in Prairie du Chien, Wis., Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made at Monona, where he had formerly lived.
