Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Barbara and Nicholas Thillen, was born Nov. 24, 1871, at Elkader, Iowa, and died at her home in Elkader Wednesday, October 15, 1958, at the age of 86 years and 11 months from a lingering illness.

Mrs. Miller received her education at St. Joseph's school, Elkader.

She was married to Nicholas Miller at St. Joseph's Church, Elkader, Feb. 23, 1908. After their marriage they moved to a farm in Boardman township, Clayton County, three and one-half miles northeast of Elkader. This was their home until March 01, 1958, when they retired and moved to Elkader.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Baltz and John Thillen, and her husband, who died March 08, 1958.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret, Mrs. Art Hoover.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 18, 1958, at the McTaggart funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman officiated.

Pallbearers were Raymond Koehn, Joseph Beck, Harold Krieg, Ray Marmann Jr., Joe Brink and Fred Hennig.

Relatives attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Alphonius and Valna, Dyersville; Mr. and Mrs. John Hoover, Mt. Vernon; Dr. and Mrs. M. J. Miller, Ossian; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nachtman, Ryan; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoover, Creston; Mr. and Mrs. Art Miller, Guttenberg; Mr. and Mrs. Herb Masuen, Garnavillo; Emma Thillen and Kate Sinner, Dubuque; and Mrs. Ben Mootz, Rita and Marlin, Bellevue.
