Robert Bailey, 45, died at the Oakdale Sanatorium early Saturday morning, Oct. 11.

Robert was the eldest son of the late Henry Bailey and Mrs. Bailey of Clayton. He was born in McGregor in the year 1913. He was preceded in death by his father, who died July 11 of this year. He had been in Oakdale Sanatorium for the past six years, suffering from tuberculosis. He had been in ill health almost all his life.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Henry Bailey of Dubuque, four brothers, Raymond of Clayton, Harold of Cedar Rapids, Clifford and Richard, both of Dubuque, and three sisters, Helen (Mrs. Charles Meyer) of Guttenberg, Grace (Mrs. Vern Hoffman) of Rockford, Ill., and Gladys (Mrs. Bud Gohde) of McGregor.

Funeral services were at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Church, Garnavillo, with the Rev. Iekel officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Center cemetery. Pallbearers were his four brothers, Raymond, Harold, Clifford and Richard Bailey, and two brothers-in-law, Charles Meyers and Bud Gohde.
