Arthur V. O'Brien, 67, stock buyer, widely known among eastern Iowans, died Wednesday, Oct. 01, 1958, in Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a coronary attack.

Arthur Vincent O'Brien, son of John and Julia Leonard O'Brien, was born Dec. 15, 1890, near Elkader. He attended the rural school near his home and St. Joseph's school in Elkader.

In 1913, he was married to Miss Alo Tenny White of Volga. They farmed several years, later moving to town. He was a livestock buyer for a number of years. In 1935 he and his family moved to Cedar Rapids, which has since been their hone, and where he was a car salesman.

Services were held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Kearn, in Cedar Rapids. Later in the day the remains were brought to the Sacred Heart cemetery in Volga, where interment was made at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Karl Klein officiated at the graveside. Pallbearers were business associates of Mr. O'Brien.

Surviving are his wife, Alo, two sons, Joseph Eugene and Leo Gene; two grandchildren, Judy and Michael O'Brien, all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. P. H. (Mamie) Quinn, Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Sarah O'Brien, New Orleans, La.; one brother, John O'Brien, Lakeland, Fla., and many other relatives.

Among the relatives and friends present at the funeral were: L. L. Quinn, Des Moines; Jack Quinn, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Neil O'Brien and family, St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Herzog, Montgomery, Minn.; Mrs. Lura Bock, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hanson, Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Leonard, Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Quinn, Strawberry Point; Mrs. N. H. Niemeyer, Elkader; D. J. Raftis, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Andreae, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. White, Oelwein; Joe Meyer, Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe McNeil, Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Farmer, Strawberry Point.
