Funeral services for Arthur H. Schmidt, 68-year-old Read township farmer, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Witt chapel in Elkader, with the Rev. Robert Jacobs, pastor of Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Center cemetery.

Mr. Schmidt died Sunday, Sept. 21. He was born on Feb. 01, 1890, in Read township.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Albert Engelhardt of Farmersburg, and one son, Levern, who lives on the home farm.
