Funeral services for George Webber, 75, retired road maintenance employee, were held Wednesday afternoon, May 14. Webber died Sunday, at 11, at the home of his son, Melvin Webber, in Elkader.

Services were conducted from Witt's chapel at 1 o'clock to St. John's E. & R. church in Garber at 2 o'clock. Burial was in the East Side cemetery at Elkader. The Rev. Richard L. Kauppenin, pastor at St. John's, officiated.

Webber was born at Garber on October 20, 1882, and was a son of Conrad and Amelia Beiger Webber. He was married to Bertha Brandenburg on November 25, 1913. He was employed by the Clayton County road department for 43 years.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Walter of Hawkeye, and Melvin of Elkader; three brothers, Albert of Garber, John of Seattle, Wash., and Martin of Claridon Hills, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Clara Voss of Garber. There are seven grandchildren.
