Funeral services were held Friday morning, April 26, 1958, for David E. Kenneally, 79, of Littleport. He died at his home April 21. Services were conducted at the Sacred Heart church at Littleport at 9:30 a.m. with Father J. L. Kissling officiating. Msgr. D. A. Gorman was present in the sanctuary. Burial was at the St. Joseph cemetery in Elkader.
David Kenneally was born July 01, 1878, in Cox Creek township of Thomas Kenneally and Margaret Scully Kenneally. Mr. Kenneally was married to Adeline Dillon in 1913. Following their marriage they farmed in Lodomillo and Cox Creek townships.
Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Thomas and Gary Kenneally, Littleport; Mrs. Marguerite Neylan, Garnavillo; Mrs. Anita Cowie, Mrs. Kathryn Leonard, Joe Kenneally, Elkader; Mrs. Ivanell Dinan, Littleport; Leo Kenneally, Los Angeles, Calif.; sixteen grandchildren, and his sister, Mrs. Margaret Pugh, Strawberry Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Beatrice, who died in infancy; a son, Edward, killed in action in the Korean war, two sisters, Mary Kenneally and Mrs. Julia Scovel and four brothers, John, Michael, Edward and Earl.
Pallbearers were Harold Liddy and Ivan Lenhart of Littleport; Bryan Farmer, Marvin Berns, John O'Brien of Strawberry Point, and T. F. Emerson of Elkader.
Relatives and friends who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kenneally, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dillon and Martha Mary, Lemont, Ill.; Mrs. E. L. Kenneally, Jim Kenneally, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kenneally and children of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Scovel and Mrs. Clyde Squires, Waterloo.
