Monona: Funeral services for Rudolph J. Schroeder, 80, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Schultz Funeral home with the Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer officiating. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mr. Schroeder died at the McGregor hospital Saturday night, March 15, at 9:15 o'clock as the result of a paralytic stroke with hemorrhage suffered in his home at Monona January 04.

He was born Oct. 11, 1877, on a farm in Clayton county, the son of John and Mary Catherine, nee Tuecke, Schroeder.

Most of his life was spent in farming. He moved to Monona after World War I. He was married to Katherine Williams Spaulding Jan. 07, 1938, at McGregor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Minnie) Lembke and Katherine.

Surviving are his widow, four sisters, Mrs. Orville (Ann) Wirkler, Mrs. John (Alma) Luepker, Mrs. Rudolph (Louise) Garms, and Mrs. Walter (Christina) Duwe, and one brother, Henry.

Music at the services was provided by Mrs. George Martin and Mrs. Ben Frese Jr., who sang "The King of Love My Shepard Is" from the Christian Science hymnal and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Ivon J. Schultz was the accompanist and also played Brahm's "Lullaby" as a prelude.

Pallbearers were: William Weir of McGregor, Larry Wessels, John Reardon, and Ralph Doolittle.
