Funeral services for Orlando William Marting, 62, were held Saturday, March 01, at 1:45 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Monona. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated at the services. Burial was in the City cemetery. Mr. Marting died Wednesday, Feb. 26, of a heart attack at the home of his son, Wallace Marting, near Farmersburg.

Orlando, son of Henry G. and Anna Meier Marting, was born April 23, 1895, in Monona township. He was educated in the rural school of that community. On Aug. 28, 1920, he married Lucy Lembke of Clayton Center who died in 1924. They had a son, Dwayne Marting now living at Clayton Center.

On Jan. 14 1925, he married Elda Fett at Monona who with six children survive him.

Mr. Marting was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Monona. He had military service in World War I and was a member of Leslie H. Smith Post American Legion of Monona. Members of this organization formed a military escort at the services.

For six years Mr. Marting served as a member of the town council of Monona. He was an insurance agent and real estate broker.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Dwayne Marting, Clayton Center; Wallace Marting, Farmersburg; Lanny Marting, Monona; three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Eilene) Meyer, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Holm, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Mary Lou Marting, Cedar Rapids; five brothers, Milton, West Union; Elmer, Luana; Alvin, Harvey and Verne, Monona; a sister, Mrs. Alvin (Adalia) Vogt, Elkader; and six grandchildren.

Music for the services was provided by soloist, Don Sabbann and Mrs. George Heins Jr. organist.

Pallbearers were Foster Koth, Henry Comnick, Ivon Schultz, Keith Gordon, Harry Luster, Alfred Fett, Burdette Wold and John A. Lenth.
