Funeral services for Harriet (Whittle) Matt, 67, were held Friday morning, Feb. 21, at St. Mary's church, Strawberry Point, at 10 o'clock with requiem mass by the Rev. Robert Palen.

Burial was at St. Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers were the nephews, Burnell, Earl, Ivan, Joseph, Walter and Gregory Whittle.

Harriet Matt, daughter of John and Julia Whittle, was born June 18, 1890, at Elkader, and died at the Independence hospital of a lingering illness.

Surviving are one sister, Blanche Blankholm, Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, A. L. Whittle, Waukon; Sylvansus Whittle, Strawberry Point, and Ambrose Whittle, Elkader. Three Stepsons, Arthur Matt, Clermont; Lloyd Matt, Edgewood, and Earl Matt, Garber; three step daughters; Mrs. Bernice Scheffert, Garber; Mrs. Henry Berns, Guttenberg, and Mrs. Viola Berns, West Union, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert Matt, her mother and father and five brothers and sisters.
