Clayton County Register, 11 Dec. 1952.

Services for Mrs. Rose Komarek, 84, were held from the Witt funeral chapel at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Burial was in Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mrs. Komarek died at Elkader on Nov. 29, 1952.

She was born in Czechoslovakia in 1868, and came to America with her parents when a small child. She was married to Joseph Komarek at Strawberry Point, Iowa, in the year 1892.

Surviving is a son, Joseph Komarek Jr., of Strawberry Point, one granddaughter, Mrs. Raymond (Marcella) Nus of Westgate, Iowa, and four great-granddaughters.

Her husband died in 1938 and a daughter, Mary, in 1919.

Pallbearers were: Harley Betts, Albert Wesley, Melvin Scott, and Arno Mueller.
