Funeral services for Henry H. Knudson were held at the family residence near St. Olaf at 1:30 o'clock on Monday, Sept. 29 and at the Norway Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Burial was in the Norway cemetery.
Mr. Knudson died at the New Sanatorium hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis., Friday, Sept. 26 following a six days illness. Death was due to a stroke. He had reached the age of 77 years, 9 months and 22 days at the time of death.
Henry H. Knudson was born December 04, 1874 on a farm near Farmersburg, the son of the late Herbrand and Martha Knudson. He received his education in the grade school at Farmersburg. He lived on the home place with his parents until he was married on May 11, 1927 to Johanna Johnson of St. Olaf. They lived on a farm near Farmersburg until 1940 when they moved to the farm in Wagner township one and one half miles south of St. Olaf which has since been their home.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church of which he was a member.
He is survived by his wife. Preceding him in death was a sister, Emma Knudson and one brother, Knute Knudson, who died at Monona, December 21, 1951. Also his parents. He was the last one of the Knudson family.
Pallbearers were: Arthur Crary, Eldo Johnson, Alvin Larson, Floyd Larson, Melvin Johnson, Arthur Johnson.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gusta and sons, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. John Waalk and Family, Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Peterson and family, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. John Limkenmann, Garwin, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Grime, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leuchtenmacher, all of Elgin; Ray Rierson and Tillie Johnson, both of Clermont.
