Henry Krouse, 91, a life-long resident of Volga township, died at his home Tuesday, July 22. Funeral services will be held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 Friday afternoon and at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. H. Zerhusen of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church of Clayton Center will conduct the services, and burial will be made in the Communia cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry Krouse were held from the Witt funeral chapel to the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church Friday afternoon, July 25, the Rev. John H. Zerhusen officiating. Burial was in the Communia cemetery.
Henry Krouse, son of Elizabeth and Henry Krouse, was born June 10, 1861, at Communia, Iowa. He died July 22, 1952, at his home at 6:00 p.m., at the age of 91 years, one month and 12 days.
At the age of nine months he moved with his parents to the farm on which he lived the remainder of his life. He received his entire education in Volga township.
On June 10, 1886 he was united in marriage to Ida Benschneider and to this union two children were born, George and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 08, 1913, and son George, on February 17, 1943.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth and one grandson , Julius Krouse, both at home; two brothers, Will Kraus, Garner, and Jacob Kraus, Cedar Rapids, many nieces nephews and friends.
Pall bearers were: Cy Kraus, Barney Kraus, Harley Kraus, Albert Kraus,, Emil Kraus and Karl Kraus.

Enderes and Fern, Mrs. Melvin Enderes, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kraus, Jean Carroll and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Kraus of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Fensterman and family, Manchester; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Kraus and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fensterman, Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. Lovett Bush and son, Colesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Thein, Elkport; Mr. and Mrs. Don Thein, Marquette; Mr. and Mrs. Will Nehring, Mason City; Will Kraus, Emil Kraus and Karl Kraus, Garner; Albert Kraus, David Schwichtenberg, Mrs. Tillie Bachman and family, Klemme; Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Kraus, Volga; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Enderes, West Union; and Donald Kraus, Garnavillo, Iowa.
