Funeral services for Mrs. Wallace Lamphier were held at the Witt funeral chapel Thursday afternoon, May 22, 1952. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.
Mrs. Lamphier had been in failing health for the past year and a half. During that time she stayed at the home of Charles M. Upton for a month and since then has been a patient at the Larson nursing home in St. Olaf where she died Tuesday, May 20, 1952. She had reached the age of 80 years,and 14 days at the time of death.
Emma Elizabeth Upton was born in Boardman township, Clayton county, Iowa, May 06, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Upton. She received her education in the schools near her home. April 16, 1915, at Crown Point, Ind., she was united in marriage to Wallace Lampier. In September they moved to Elkader where they have since resided.
She is survived by her husband and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were: L. D. Smith, Gus Storbeck, Norman Martin, Harold Kelleher, Francis Cummings and Charles Upton.
