DIED - At McGregor, on Tuesday, Oct 6th, of Congestion, after an illness of four months, Hattie Grace, only child of Chas. F. and Hattie A. Kenick [sic] - aged 1 year, 2 months and 12 days.
To the parents of the deceased child we extend our condolence. This is the third visit of DEATH to the family of these friends, and in each instance he carried to the grave "the only child". Sad must be the hearts of parents when their hopes of happiness are thus successively blasted. May the Almighty Father assist them patiently to endure the trials with which they are visited.
Rev. S.P. Sloan preached he funeral sermon from the test: "Is it well with thee? Is it well with thy husband? Is it well with the child? And she answered: "It is well."
