Funeral services for Herman G. Schlee, 81, a long-time resident of Clayton county, will be held at 2 o'clock this Friday afternoon at the Witt funeral chapel at Elkader. The Rev. Paul Kitterer will officiate and burial will be in the Union cemetery at Littleport.

Mr. Schlee, who was born in Germany and came to this section in his youth, died Wednesday morning at the home of Lloyd Amling, near Littleport.

Herman G. Schlee, a retired farmer of Litttleport vicinity, died Wednesday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Amling of Strawberry Point.

Herman G. Schlee was born February 02, 1870, in Germany. He came to this country at the age of 13 years and spent most of his life in the Littleport vicinity.

At the age of forty he was united in marriage to Millie Eberhardt. To this union were born nine children: Freddie, who died in infancy; Walter of Elkport; Mrs. Lloyd (Carrie) Amling, Strawberry Point; Henry of West Union; Mrs. Delores (Edna) Willie, Elkport; Mrs. James (Evelyn) Neel, Richmond, Calif.; Arthur, of Randalia; Leroy, Guttenberg; Herman, Jr., at home. There are fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mr. Schlee had reached the age of 81 years, 9 months and 19 days at the time of death.

Pallbearers were: Willis Lewin, Alvin Koehn, Lavern Plagman, Floyd Williams, William Ball, Leo Kirschbaum. Burial was in the Union cemetery at Littleport.
