Funeral services for Fred Wagner were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon and at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at two o'clock. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Fred Wagner, the son of Emil and Caroline Homman Wagner, was born March 15, 1877, on the farm in Boardman township, Clayton county, Iowa, on which he died Oct. 04, 1951. He had reached the age of seventy-four years, six months and nineteen days at the time of death.
He had never married; and spent his entire life on the farm with his parents. Since the death of his mother, who was a semi-invalid for whom he cared faithfully, he has been alone on the farm.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were: one brother, two half-brothers and three half-sisters. One brother, Charlie, of Elkader, survives him, also a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were: Reynold Hedeman, D. H. Walke, Ray O. Glesne, Anton Johnson, Evert Neal, M. L. Ponsar.
