ST. OLAF: Susanna Knutson, daughter of Ole and Thora Knutson was born Nov. 08, 1865, and died Sept. 11, 1951, at the Aase Haugen home, the last of a family of ten children. She reached the age of 85 years, 10 months and three days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church of which she was active in Luther League work, teaching Sunday school and serving as organist for a number of years.
She received her education in the rural schools and McGregor after which she taught in this community and South Dakota. Later she helped care for the children of one of her brothers. With the exception of these years she was a resident of this community until she entered the Aase Haugen home at Decorah in 1944.
She leaves to mourn her death a large number of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were: Henry Kjosa, Oliver Johnson, Arthur Knuth, LeRoy Larson, Ben Fuelling and Orvin Embretson.
Relatives attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Amos Olson, Hendricks, Minn.; Floyd Monson, Mrs. Leure Dorsett, Summit, S. Dak., Mrs. Maren Miley, Northwood, Iowa; Mrs. Walter Ernst, Arlington, Iowa, and Mrs. M. J. Moore, Maynard, Iowa.
