Died - In Grand Meadow, Iowa, August 9th, 1877, Mrs. Henry Fry, of dropsy, aged thirty-nine years, and one day.
The deceased had been sick for a year past, patiently suffering and awaiting with Christian fortitude the end that was sure to come. In her eleven years of married life Mrs. Fry was known and acknowledged as an estimable lady, whose character reflected the goodness of heart, the purity of devotion to every Christian principle and the love and joy of a well spent life.
The funeral services occurred at the farm on the 10th, conducted by Rev. Ward, of Clermont, who is said to have delivered a grand discourse, reciting the noble and womanly traits of character of the deceased, with commendable words for her patient Christian bearing during her long illness.
She was buried in the Fry Cemetery on the farm, by the side of others of the Fry family, united with them in the land of glory, in the heaven of rest.
The husband has the sympathy and condolence of the community, and though wifeless and childless he can turn to the Great Giver of all good for consolation in this hour of deep trouble.
Mr. Fry desires to extend to the many friends who so willingly labored at the bedside of the dying wife, his heartfelt thanks. Their kindness in the hour of need was a blessing indeed.
