Some boys were on the island, below Clayton, on Sunday last, the 19th and found the body of a man lying in the frift-wood. The decomposition of the body indicated death some months since.
He was six feet in height, had dark brown hair, about 30 years old; no papers to lead to his identification. His dress was blue denim pants or overalls, jacket, white cotton shirt and calf boots. The boots were foxed and half-soled.
An inquest was held by Justice Stinson. Verdict "Found drowned." the body was buried on the island. Exchanges may do a favor to the living by noticing this. Several weeks ago there were some Lansing men here inquiring for a man who was missed from the steamer 'Minnesota'. This may be the man.
