STRAWBERRY POINT: Lester Lyle Hines, 73, died Sunday evening at Mercy hospital, Oelwein, where he was taken Wednesday after he fell from a ladder while painting at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Art Huebsch on the M. G. Arnold farm. He received a skull fracture, broken arm, badly cut head and internal injuries.

Son of Calvin and Sarah Ann Pugh, he was born Sept. 08, 1872, at Rockport, Mo., but had lived here the past 61 years. In April 1900 he was married to Mary Dunsmoor Teasdale who died Aug. 22, 1939. He was a painter by trade, and a member of the Methodist church, to I.O.O.F. and Woodman lodges.

Survivors are two sons, Leon, Chicago and Lyle, Woodward; a daughter, Mrs. William J. Hafka; two grandsons, William and Robert Kafka, all of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Ada Coonfare, Strawberry Point.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. Park Anderson in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. Music was furnished by Mrs. Hannah Talcott and Miss Leola Carter, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Kramer.

Casket bearers were Winnie Barnes, Bert Blanchard, M. F. Harwood, Clyde Menold, Earl Nichols and John Tiner.
