MARRIED.
In Elkader, July 17th, 1878, at the residence of the bride's father, by Rev. Chas. Cressy, Mr. Clarence E. Lyman, of Brownsville, Minn., to Miss Mary E. Rathman, of Elkader.
This event was not unexpected; on the contrary rumor had settled the event as likely to occur very soon. The bride has been engaged in the millnery business in this place for several years past and has very many warm and earnest friends who wish her an abundance of joy in this new relation.- The bridegroom is one of Brownsville's excellent business men being station agent for the S. M. R'y Co., and is decidedly popular with all who know him. The happy couple are now on a bridal tour to Bloomington, Wisconsin. With the very good friends in Elkader, The Register joins in wishing Mary and her husband the richest of blessings, a joyous happy career through years of a profitable matrimonial life.
Elkader Register, 18 July 1878.
