Mrs. Mary Gertrude Ernst, Rock Island, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Hurley, Elkader, became the bride of Harry E. White, Rock Island, son of George E. White and the late Emma White, Clinton, Iowa, in St. Joseph's church on Thanksgiving Day. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman officiated. Acolytes were Bernard Barry, Mapleton, and Mike Scott, McGregor, both nephews of the bride. Attendants were Mrs. Agnes Scott, McGregor, and Earl Barry, Mapleton, sister and brother-in-law of the bride. Organist was Michael Barry, Creighton university, Omaha, Neb., a nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in St. Joseph's hall for about 200 guests. At the same time, the bride's parents were celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Cake and ice cream were served the guests and pouring the coffee were Mrs. Emmett Kauffman, Greeley, and Mrs. Marsene Possehl, Waterloo, cousins of the groom.
