Roys - Bennington marriage - 1954

ROYS, BENNINGTON, WHITFORD

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, Oct. 23, by Miss Lucy Marie Bennington and Pvt. Henry Allen Roys at Sacred Heart church. The Rev. Francis Bradshaw pastor, officiated. Charles Bennington, the bride's father, gave her in marriage. John Bennington, brother of the bride, served as best man, and ushers were Leslie Roys, the groom's brother, and James W. Whitford, the bride's cousin. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Bennington, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Roys.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Roys are graduates of the Volga high school. Before entering the service, the groom worked at the Volga creamery. Mrs. Roys has employment in the Collins Radio plant at Cedar Rapids. At present, Pvt. Roys is stationed at Camp Chaffee, Ark.
