Drahn - Otis marriage - 1954

MONONA: Marjorie C. Otis, daughter of Major and Mrs. F. S. Otis of Washington, D.C., and Lloyd C. Drahn of Monona, exchanged wedding vows Sunday, Aug. 08, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at Monona. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated. Miss Dorothy Hubacher, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and Diane Otis of Hastings, Nebr., cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Ronald Drahn of Corvallis, Oregon, nephew of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Thomas Nugent of Iowa City, and the bride's brothers, Gilbert and William Otis of Washington, D.C.

At the reception in the church parlors for 200 guests, Miss Karen Drahn was in charge of the guest book, and Miss Lou Anne Leonard of Bremen, Ohio, assisted by Mrs. Donald Hubacher of Monona, cut the cake. Miss Sophia Drahn and Mrs. Richard Cutler poured.

The bride is a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college and has been serving as teacher at the University of Iowa Elementary school at Iowa City. The groom, a World War II veteran, is an electrical contractor at Monona, where the new couple will make their home.
