Wedding vows were exchanged, June 29, 1954, at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at Elkader, by Doris Lou Davies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Davies of Edgewood and Ivan E. Hardt, son of Mrs. Marie Hardt and the late Mr. Ewald Hardt of St. Olaf. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Maid of honor was Joyce Larson, friend of the bride, and bridesmaid was Ruth Davies of St. Olaf. Alvin Bierbaum of Garnavillo, cousin of the groom, was best man, and groomsman was Dean Meyer of Garnavillo. Ushers were Harold Hardt, brother of the groom, and Walter Davies, brother of the bride. Marlys and Susan Davies, sisters of the bride, were the flower girls.
At the reception, Mrs. Alfred Hardt, aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Clair Dillon, aunt of the bride, cut the cake.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of Garnavillo high school and the groom has been farming on the home farm near Garnavillo for several years, where the new home will be made.
