GARNAVILLO: Miss Marie Voelker, daughter of Mrs. Celinda Voelker of Garnavillo, was united in marriage to Elmer Hendrickson of Sacramento, Calif., June 22, in St. Peter's Lutheran church, with the Rev. Pannkuk officiating. Verda Mae Kaiser of Garnavillo, cousin of the bride, was honor attendant, The groom was attended by Gerhard Kaiser, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Arnold and Everett Lenth, cousins of the bride. Mrs. Donald Voelker, Nevada, Iowa, sang, and was accompanied by W. B. Kenzel, organist.
The new couple left immediately for Yosemite National Park in California where Mr. Hendrickson will be a park ranger this summer, and has a teaching position in the high school in San Marino, Calif. this fall.
Mrs. Hendrickson was graduated from Iowa State Teachers college and taught second grade in Sacramento, Calif., the past two years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Mr. Hendrickson was reared on a farm in Canada. He received his master's degree at the University of Southern California, and took post-graduate work in the Universities of Minnesota, California and Oslo, Norway. He taught several years in American dependents' schools in Germany.
