Schmelzer - Bahls marriage - 1954

Miss Jeanette Bahls, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bahls became the bride of Donald Schmelzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmelzer, Saturday, April 24 at St. Joseph's church, Elkader. Bobby Miller and Robert Schmelzer served as alcolytes. Bridesmaid was Patricia Ann Schmelzer, sister of the groom, and Dwayne Dahls, brother of the bride, attended the groom. Ushers were Harold Bahls and Keith Schmelzer, brothers of the marrying couple.

A reception was held at Club 13 at which Lavon Bahls was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. John Stemmer, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Keith Stemmer were in charge of gifts. Mrs. Wendell Freeman, sister of the bride, cut the wedding cake, and Mrs. Clarence Polkow, aunt of the bride, served the coffee.
