Scherf - Kramer marriage - 1954

Miss Cheryll Ann Kramer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Dale Kramer of Guttenberg, became the bride of Eldean Scherf, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Scherf of Farmersburg, in St. John's Lutheran church of Guttenberg, Jan. 18. The Rev. E. W. Kraemer officiated. The bride was attended by friends. William Scherf Jr., brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Verdine Glawe, brother-in-law of the groom, and Virgil Fette, friend of the groom. Michael Gates of Cedar Rapids, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception for 300 guests was held in the church parlors, at which Mrs. Burnell Glawe, cousin of the groom, had charge of the gifts. Mrs. Duane Mueller, cousin of the groom, poured, and Mrs. Verdine Glawe, sister of the groom, cut the wedding cake.

The bride was formerly employed as secretary to the superintendent of the Guttenberg Consolidated school. The groom is associated in farming with his father.

After a wedding trip to California the new couple will be living on a farm near Farmersburg.
