Haan - Gibbs marriage - 1956

Miss Ruth Gibbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Gibbs of Strawberry Point, and Paul Haan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Haan of Parkersburg, were married, Dec. 26, at the First Methodist church in Strawberry Point. The Rev. Wayne Carlson officiated. Ushers were Harold Haan, brother of the groom, and Frank, Ed and Joe Gibbs, brothers of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school, Cottey college at Nevada, Mo., and Iowa State Teachers college in Cedar Falls. She taught last year in the Tipton schools and at present is a junior high instructor in the Allison school. The groom graduated from Parkersburg high school, spent two years of Army service in Germany during the Korean War, and at present is farming near Parkersburg.

Following a wedding trip, the new couple will be at home on a farm near Parkersburg.
