Scherf - Harbaugh marriage - 1956

SCHERF, HARBAUGH, CORNWALL

St. Paul's church at Garnavillo was the scene of the marriage of Jacquelyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Harbaugh of Garnavillo, and John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Scherf of Elkader, June 03. The Rev. L. C. Urlaub officiated. Vernelda Scherf, cousin of the groom, and LeFonda Gerloff, classmate of the bride, acted as bridesmaids. Art Scherf, cousin of the groom, and William Scherf, a cousin, acted as groomsmen. Gene and Gary Harbaugh, brothers of the bride, were the ushers.

A reception for 200 guests was held in the church parlors, at which Mrs. Oscar Cornwall sister of the bride, served the cake, and Mrs. George Harbaugh, sister-in-law of the bride, poured.
