May 08, 1956, at the St. John Lutheran church at Farmersburg, occurred the marriage of Miss VaNalle Henning and Donald Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miller of Guttenberg. The Rev. R. H. Steege officiated. Vernon Walter of Colesburg, cousin of the groom, was vocalist and sang several selections. Maid of honor was Miss Jennadine Palas, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids were the Misses Patricia and Marlyn Miller, sisters of the groom, and Miss Judy Baade, cousin of the bride. Best man was the groom's brother, Robert Miller, and the groomsmen were Eldon Parker, friend of the groom, and Leon Hoth, friend of the bride. Mrs. Will Harnish and Mrs. Mae Miller, grandmothers of the groom, and Mrs. Anna Kalke, grandmother of the bride, were in attendance at the ceremony.

At the reception in the church parlors, Mrs. Dale Henning and Mrs. Donald Henning, sisters-in-law of the bride, cut the cake. Mrs. Carlys Best, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Leo Miller, friend of the bride, poured.

Since her graduation from Elkader high school, the bride has been employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Elkader. Her husband graduated from the Guttenberg high school and then attended college for two years in Iowa City, until he was called into the armed forces, where he served two years.

The new couple will make their home in Colesburg, where Mr. Miller has been in business since January as a stock buyer.
