St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona was the scene, Apr. 16, of the wedding of Anna Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Platten of Monona, and Louis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Burkle of Dyersville. The Rev. Father Luke Donlon, pastor, officiated. Sister of the groom, Marie Burkle of Dyersville, was maid of honor, and Viola Goedken, cousin of the bride and groom, was bridesmaid. Best man was John Burkle of Dyersville, brother of the groom, and the bride's brother, Jerome Platten of Monona, was groomsman. Ushers were Herbert Burkle of Dyersville, a cousin of the groom, and Cyril Platten of Monona, another brother of the bride.
The bride graduated from the Garnavillo high school and has been at home. The groom finished at St. Francis Xavier high school in Dyersville, served with the Army in Korea, and has been engaged in farming near Fort Atkinson, Iowa, where the young couple will make their home.
