Miss Donna Fassbinder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Fassbinder of Elkader, became the bride of Thomas S. Canavan of Dubuque, son of Wm. Canavan of Dubuque, May 21, in St. Joseph's church at Elkader. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman officiated. The Rev. Hawes of Elkader and the Rev. Robert Auer of Dubuque were also in the Sanctuary. Gerald Fassbinder, brother of the bride, and his wife Jeanne, sang several selections. Mrs. Richard Fassbinder, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor, and Donald Canavan was best man for his brother. Cynthia Canavan was flower girl and Billy Fassbinder was ringbearer. Alter boys were John Frank Meyer Jr. of Dubuque, cousin of the bride, and Joe O'Hara of Marshalltown and Bernard Whittle of Monona, both cousins of the bride and both attending Loras Academy.
The bride was graduated from Immaculate Conception academy of Dubuque, and employed as secretary to Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. Fred Kriebs at Sacred Heart Rectory. The groom graduated from Loras academy and is assistant manager of Barkers Shoe Store in Dubuque.
On May 29, Mr. and Mrs. Canavan will be at home at 3006 Main Street, Dubuque.
