Services for Charlotte Miles, 73, of Spencer were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Baumgarten Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Keith Purscell officiated and burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. Mrs. Miles died February 12 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Bearers at Spencer were members of the Eagles Lodge Aerie 2273 and Bearers at Cherokee were members of Odd Fellows Lodge 188 at Cherokee.
Charlotte Katherine Miles was born April 6, 1904 at Worthing, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Hattie Bell Horton McFadden. As an infant she moved with her family to Ponca, Nebraska. She married James E. Booth Sr. on March 15, 1920, at Storm Lake. They lived in Cherokee County area until his death in 1959. She married Walter Miles on June 10, 1964, at Storm Lake. They lived in Cherokee until his death in 1969. Since then she had lived in Spencer.
Survivors include four sons, Emery (Jack) Booth of Dennison, Texas, Clifford Booth of Cherokee, James Jr., of Newton and LeRoy Booth of Westley, California; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Sunkenberg of Spencer; 22 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Darwin McFadden and one sister, Mrs. Louise Bellmer of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, two sisters and two children Elmer and Alice in infancy.
The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

According to the Oak Hill Cemetery Records at Cherokee. Her Husband was buried on 9/23/1959, Block 8, Lot 1, Grave 6, he was 85 years old. She is buried in Block 8 Lot 1, Grave 5. She was buried on 2/15/1978. Her second husband Walter Lincoln Miles is buried in Block 3, Lot 74, Grave 6, buried on 7/11/1969, he was 58 years old
