Funeral services for Mattie Marie Beck, 89 of Royal will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Royal
Mrs. Beck died Saturday at St. Luke Lutheran Home, Spencer
The Rev. Roy Satre will officiate at the services for Mrs. Beck and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer
Casket bearers will be Phil Hurst, John Christenson, Francis Christenson, Paul Christensen, Danny Beck and Jim Christenson
Warner Funeral Home, Spencer is in charge of arrangements
The daughter of Lauritz and Marie (Hollesen) Hagedorn, was born December 1, 1897 in royal. She grew up in the Royal area and graduated from Royal High School. After graduating from high school she worked at Iver'e Grocery Store in Royal
She married A. Nat Beck, June 25, 1919 in Royal. They farmed near Royal until 1954, when they moved to Spencer. They later returned to farming southwest of Rossie, where they lived until moving to Royal in 1974.
Mrs. Beck had been a resident of St. Luke's since 1982
A lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she was also a member of the church circle, past president of the Clay County Farm Bureau and Mother of the Year in Clay County
She enjoyed collecting cups and saucers and writing to her pen pal in England
Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband on March 5, 1980; one grandson; three brothers and three sisters
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Rudolph and Lois Ann Beck, Spirit Lake, Robert and Joan Beck pf Auburn, California and Paul and Phyllis Beck of Seward, Nebraska; one daughter and her husband, June and Bernard Christenson of Storm Lake; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren
