A funeral service for Alice Beaver, 81 of Spencer will be held Monday, July 30, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer. The Roger Linnan will officiate. Virgil services will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, July 29 at Warner Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Beaver died at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer on Thursday, July 26, 2001
Casket bearers will be Lee Shatto, Mark Campney, Merlyn Wegener, Gale Igou, Marlin Foote and Charles McCord
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer
Alice Ruth Beaver, the daughter of John and Alice Mae (Crystal) Watson was born February 26, 1920 in Steward, Illinois. Her childhood years were spent in Chicago, Illinois, where she received her education, graduating from high school in 1938. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several different firms there
She married Everett. L. Pickens on February 26, 1946 in Chicago. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Chicago until moving to the Greenville and Spencer areas in 1947.
Mr. Pickens died in September, 1967
She married Floyd L. Beaver on September 27, 1969 in Spencer. She held several bookkeeping jobs in Spencer before being employed as a program clerk for the Department of Agriculture (ASCS) office for 25 years from 1955 until her retirement in 1980
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. She was also a very active member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she served as president, secretary and most recently treasurer
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands and one brother
Mrs. Beaver is survived by many relatives and friends
