Obituary

Amanda Jane Wilson was born in Wapello county, June 5th, 1851, was married to R. I. Jones June 18th, 1871, departed this life September 23rd, 1893, age forty two years, eight months, and eighteen days. She gave full evidence of having made her calling and election sure. The funeral services took place at the house September 24th. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. F. M. Evans, from St. John fourteenth chapter, three first verses inclusive: "Let not the hearts be troubled, ye believe in God believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you onto myself, that where I am there ye may be also." After which the remains were laid to rest in the Hebron cemetery. She leaves a husband and eleven children and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
