ANOTHER PIONEER HAS PASSED AWAY
Carl Gerlach, Old Settler of Cedar Township Dies in Texas
News came to Cherokee last evening of the death of Carl Gerlach, one more of the pioneers of Cherokee county. He passed away at the home of his son, Theodore Gerlach, at Mission, Texas, where he had been for the past two months.

The body will be brought to Paulina for burial and it is now thought the funeral will take place Saturday.

Mr. Gerlach was among the pioneers of Cherokee county, the old farm home in Cedar township being a land mark. Many old friends will regret to learn of his death. (Source: The Semi-Weekly Democrat, Thurs, Jan 20, 1916, pg. 2)
