Funeral services for Susan Shima Cranston, 49, Denver, Colo. and formerly of Tipton and Iowa City, were held Feb. 27, 1997 at Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in Chandler, Ariz.

Mrs. Cranston died suddenly Feb. 22, following a heart attack at her home in Denver.

The daughter of Joe and Laurel Shima, she was born Sept. 25, 1947. She graduated from Tipton high school in 1965 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Iowa City in 1968. She married Craig Cranston June 21, 1969 in Tipton.

Mrs. Cranston worked at Mercy hospital until moving to Arizona in 1971.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Nathan, at home; a sister, Annette, San Diego Calif.; her mother in Chandler; 2 nieces; and aunts, uncles and cousins in the Tipton area. She was preceded in death by her father.
