Funeral services for Marvella V. Fehling, 99, Lowden, were held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Zion United Church of Christ, with Rev. Stephen Stepp officiating. Burial followed at Van Horn cemetery, south of Lowden.

Mrs. Fehling died Sept. 12 at Wheatland Manor.

The daughter of August and Ella Beuthien Horman, she was born June 6, 1920 in Bennett. She married Harold Fehling on Oct. 18, 1940 in Lowden. He died on May 19, 1971.

Mrs. Fehling was a woman of faith and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, as well as a former member of the women's guild and Zion quilters. She was also a former member of the Cedar County Cook Association and received a State of Iowa volunteer award for helping people. She taught Sunday school for over 20 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon (Bill) Elijah, Clarence; Cheryl (Jim) Hartley, Tustin, Calif.; Shirlee (Dan) Gallagher, Oskaloosa; and Sherrie (Milan) James, Maquoketa; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Mary Louise), Lowden; and Raldo, Tipton; and sisters, Erna Rowold, Geneseo, Ill.; Alice Rowold, Lowden; and Irene Rowold, Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, a son, sisters-in-law, Mabel Horman and Darlene Horman; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Rowold.
