John D. Hightower, 50, Clarence, died Feb. 18, 1997 at his home, following a long illness. No services were held.

The son of Clarence and Alvina Katzdorn Hightower, he was born Sept. 16, 1946 in Placerville, Colo.

Mr. Hightower worked with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department until retiring in 1979.

He loved fishing and motorcyles.

Mr. Hightower is survived by his partner, Patricia Bellinger, Clarence; a son, John Hightower, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a daughter, Sarah Hightowner, Falbrook, Calif.; 2 brothers, Clarence, LaMirada, Calif.; and Mark, Clarence; 3 sisters, Kathryn; Douglas, Denver, Colo.; Marie Loudenbeck, Cedar Rapids and Cindy Loudenbeck, Iowa City; 3 grandchildren and 18 nieces and nephews.
