Funeral services for Lucille Waters, 81, West Branch, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997 at the West Branch United Methodist church, with the Rev. Richard M. Paulus officiating. Mrs. Amy Garlock is the organist and soloist. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Burial will be in the Downey cemetery.
Mrs. Waters died Feb. 16 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.
The daughter of Ben and Jessie Cornwall Wilcox, she was born March 19, 1915 in McCoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She married Leslie Waters Feb. 28, 1940 in Iowa City.
The couple farmed all their lives in the Downey area.
She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the D.A.R. and the Centerdale Women's Club.
Mrs. Waters is survived by 6 sons, Gerald, West Branch; Charles, Iowa City; Ray, Houston, Texas; Kenneth, Iowa City; Donald, Des Moines and Ronald, Glenwood; a sister, Bonita Moore, California; a brother, Ronald Wilcox, Tampa, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to the West Branch First Responders and the United Methodist church.
