Funeral services for Elmer H. Stock, 70, a native of Clarence, were held at Monroe, La. Dec. 18.

The son of Daniel and Emma Stock, he was born at Clarence Dec. 27, 1916. He graduated from Clarence high school and attended college at Davenport.

He was married to Edith Anthony in Monroe July 23, 1947. He was a manager of the Firestone Store in Monroe and a member of the Lutheran church.

Mr. Stock was a veteran of World War II. He was inducted into the army May 3, 1941 and served overseas for more than 30 months. He took part in the Tunisian and Rome-Arno campaigns and was awarded a Combat Infantry badge while a member of the 133rd Inf. Regt. He was a prisoner of war of the Germans.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, Woodrow, Stanwood and 5 sisters, Edna Stock, Clarence; Irene Edler, Alhambra, Calif.; Myrtle Hempel, Cedar Rapids, Mildred Toerber, Massillon and Evelyn Schoff, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
