Funeral services for Mrs. Ross (Leona) Sayles, 69, were held at the West Branch Methodist church Sept. 18 with the Rev. Samuel J. Hahn officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Sayles died at the Crestview Care Center Sept. 15.

The daughter of William and Emilia Jedlik Pirkl, she was born in Cedar county Nov. 14, 1916 and was married to Ross Sayles in Cedar Rapids Nov. 11, 1940. The couple farmed in the West Branch area, moving to West Branch in 1962. She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Everett, LeClaire and 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons and a granddaughter.
