Funeral services for Elsie Mae Countryman, 88, Tipton, were held July 9 at Sheets and Son Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating. Pallbearers were Tony, Terry, Tracy, Lee and Scott Countryman and Joe Thomas. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Countryman died July 5 at Osteopathic hospital in Davenport following a brief illness.

She was born July 7, 1895 in Plato to Joseph and Mary Bailey Yetter. She attended the rural Cedar county schools.

She married Lee Countryman Sept. 12, 1911 in Tipton. She was a life resident of the Tipton area and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Countryman is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Donald (Florence) Willcutt, Tipton; Mrs. Eloise Thomas, Platteville, Wis. and Mrs. C. H. (Blanche) Bowman, West Branch; 5 sons, Bob, Claire and Francis (Fritz), all of Tipton; Hilbert, Moline, Ill. and Clarence (Wimp), Davenport; 28 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and 2 sons.
