Maria S. Herbert
Dies Early Today

Had Been Ill Several Months
Resident of This County for Half Century

Maria S. Herbert, age 65, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.G. Stevenson at 5:30 this morning after an illness extending over several months. She has been a resident of this county for over half a century.

Mrs. Herbert was born in Indiana in 1856 and came to this county with her parents when a young girl. She was married forty-six years ago to Joseph K. Herbert. Mr. Herbert died on May 25, 1908.

Mrs. Herbert is survived by five children, three boys and two girls. Melville Herbert, who lives west of this city; Roy J. Herbert, who lives north of this city; Ralph J Herbert of Audubon; Mrs. Florence Smith, who lives north of this city and Mrs. Ruth Stevenson with whom she made her home.

The funeral services will be held Friday at 1 o’clock at the Buck Creek Church. The Rev. C.W. Hohanshelt of Ogden, Ia, who is a former minister of Buck Creek Church will conduct the services. Internment will be in the Marne Cemetery.
